I would like to know who made this vase please? It is 9.5 inches high to the tip of the wing and 12 inches across from wingtip to wingtip. (I am sure there is a better name for the wings, but I can't think of it :))

Looking at this again, could it possibly be Czechoslovakian? The colouring reminds me of some of the skrdlovice pieces, but I have never seen this style anywhere.

Similar to this item listed here:

Enjoy the read of the description...:)
As to maker/country, I have no conclusion...
-
Well yours is much nicer so... :24:

Wow! Without the hyperbole, it does say that it has been in the family for 50 years (assuming that is true) so at least I can be reasonably sure it isn't modern chinese :)
So maybe I should be looking at Murano then? The way the colours worked together reminded me of some of Czech pieces though.

The same hyperbole is applied to all the seller's items; the previous owner differs though

If memory serves me correctly we have discussed items by this particular seller before. They also sold a large collection of items from a deceased hotel baron's estate whose family was originally based out of India via England..... I am of the humble opinion that if they spent as much time researching their wares as they appear to spend writing fiction novels, they would actually know what they sell.... But that again, is just my humble opinion......

Hi littleblackhen,
it has similarities with 2 of my large vases, that i bought together, and i think are most likely
Murano 50s/60s/70s.
its a bit of a cross with this,

which has those 4 added on 'wings', and the pulled out feel of this,

My guess is Italian, its a great piece
The jury is still out, maybe a move to the Murano board for their perusal?
Cheers
Andy
ps Seguso or Poli would not surprise me, im convinced they are all from a good maker ;D
