Title: Pallme-Konig? Bohemian Glass help (& URANIUM TOO!)
Post by: mrvaselineglass on April 18, 2010, 11:55:58 PM
I just got back from the Hoosier show in Indianapolis and picked up this beauty!  I showed it to several dealers and most agreed it was Bohemian, and a couple suggested it might be Pallme-Koenig (Konig).  It stands 9" tall.  The foot is 4 1/8".  Top diameter (maximum, from lobe to lobe) is 5 1/2 inches.  The purple 'drizzle' effect on the outside can be felt, but does not seem to be deeply impressed like some of the Pallme-Koenig I see on the internet.  The internal amethyst and external amethyst are a match on color.  the inside amethyst has a metallic spray over the top of the color, as does the creamy/custard/opaline outer surface.  The outer drizzled effect on the amethyst shimmers, but just barely, and appears to have been put on after the other metallic salts were added.  When i reflect the outer surface with a lamp bulb, the off-white surface reflects light, but the amethyst drizzle does not.   There is honest wear on the bottom rim.  The pontil is ground smooth, but not in a perfect circle, and is a flat color, not irridized or highly polished.  no signature or country or origin listed.  The foot also glows under a blacklight, but when I took the picture, I shined the light down into the bowl of the vase, so it does not show up in the photo.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would agree that it is likely Bohemian, but I would not look to Pallme Koenig as the house that made it....
Any possibility of getting bigger pics and a good shot of the underside?  Would love to see better surface detail.....
