probably a nonstarter this one. Has a sort of Roman/Greek look, and almost certainly did not originally come with a stopper, as no wear in the neck, so I'm thinking it is a carafe. about 320mm tall, and with a ground/polished pontil mark, and with a fair amount of wear on the base, perhaps 30 - 60 years old. Hasn't been cleaned yet, so forgive the dirty look. If anyone does recognize this please do let me know, and as always thanks for looking.

I would hazard a guess at maybe Italian, but it could be from anywhere. Possibly not Krosno though because the amber looks too brown

thanks to all of you. I had trawled around somewhat, but nothing was coming up - and I see that I was wrong about the stopper - oh damn. Anyway the jury seems to be out still, but appreciate your efforts Anne, and will have to continue looking, although I suspect it goes back a good half a century or thereabouts. cheers Paul S.
