Title: Brilliant cut fruitbowl
Post by: Pinkspoons on April 26, 2010, 01:45:47 PM
Another part of the (seemingly endless) joblot haul - and it's the last item for a day or two, otherwise I run the risk of flooding the board.  :-[

A brilliant cut fruit bowl, 210mm / 8.25" diameter and 85mm / 3.125" tall. Quality of the cutting seems very good.

No idea with this type of glass - it's a little too fussy for my minimalist palate - but I would assume it's pre-war rather than a modern take on the style. A careful inspection revealed no hidden maker's mark on the interior or exterior.

If the little starry and crosshatch cuts are grey and not polished, Bohemia Crystal strikes me as a likely option, as I have seen similar labelled things

Oops - I guess it probably is contemporary, then.  :-[

I avoid buying this kind of thing for a reason. Give me distinctive blown shapes and colours any day.  ;D

Nic, don't worry about flooding the board. It's more when someone posts six in a row for several days running that people get... tired.

I would support Ivo, it looks like Czech style cut, Bohemia Podebrady Glasswork, rather recent production - see Bohemia catalogues at my web site.

Rich Czech produced from 30ties to 50 ties cut you can find here:
