Hi there,
plese help me identify this paperweight.
Kalin
-
I have amended the title of the thread to make it more meaningful.
Could you please give the dimensions of the weight - diameter and height.
A side view photo would also be good to see. :)
-
A guess at what it says, apart from 1999, would be good as well.

Thanks for the comments.
The paperweight is kidney shape and measures 14cm x 8.5cm x 5cm high and weights 860g.

I have received the following comment from a friend who is a GMB reader but not a registered member:
... looks very much like a signed weight in my collection, made by Mme. Michele Luzoro, in Biot/France, who made some weights during the 1980ies and 1990ies. I think the critter above 1999 reads “Luzoro”.
(see: http://www.sindelarandobrien.com/luzoro/luzoro.htm for example of vase).
I have also taken the liberty of creating an enhanced version of Kalin's photo of the base in the hope of increasing the chance of reading the script. See below.

Michèle Luzoro is male - see http://www.beyond.fr/themes/glassworks.html - and here's his signature (late 1980ies):
