Title: 'Ephemere' vase marked 'Celery' - Val Saint Lambert
Post by: Anne E.B. on May 03, 2010, 02:17:49 PM
For interest/reference, thought I'd show this lovely Val Saint Lambert vase from their Luxval Collection (also seen here http://www.glas-musterbuch.de/LUXVAL-1935.117+B6YmFja1BJRD0xMTcmcHJvZHVjdElEPTUyMTgmcGlkX3Byb2R1Y3Q9MTE3JmRldGFpbD0_.0.html ) before it is consigned to the recycling bin :spls:  Up until this morning it has quite happily held flowers, but became a victim of my Spring Clean session and now has a big crack on the base

It has CELERY acid etched at the top on opposite sides.

Not your fault. I have its twin which did not even survive the short trip from the Brussels flea market (where it was intact) to the hotel (where it had a pronounced crack). I think the annealing on these must have been shockingly bad.

Interesting you should say that Ivo, as I'd already spotted this info (translated from French) which refers to defects in the production of these vases

Sorry for the long link, I still haven't got the hang of shortening links.

May be I'm not wholly to blame ;)
Thanks Anik ;)

Obviously aptly named. Not my colour, but WOW to the design - does it not still display well? Is it waterproof enough to use for ( :P ) flowers?
Given they do seem prone to disaster, they may well be in short supply...
