I only bought this vase out of interest.
It was sold as 1970's and as a Porcupine vase because of its spikes.
Height 12.5" or 32 cm and weighs 1.35 kg
Thanks Roy

I am jnot sure about what ouch means. My thought was based on a total amateur google search. I am trying to balance the scales of my incessent questions with some help as i am always asking questions and I am feeling guilty. ::)
-
I think Rose is making a joke about the vase but saying she likes it.
Do you have a reference to the round Holmegaard one? I wouldn't say this was Holmegaard, as it looks pressed and not blow moulded.
Pressed glass in more than one colour is very unusual.
-
Ok. I didnt mean to be sensative but im so new. I googled porcupine glass, it had another name aswell. A couple of other names we used in the description of porcupine glass, but i cant remember. I have a shocking memory. Ok

I have a vague feeling we've seen one of these on here before, but I can't find any reference to it. The colours suggest newer production to me, although the design is complicated...is there much base wear?
-
I see a Cactus not a Porcupine :o

Those look more Borske Sklo than Holmegaard I think.
-
A quick search brings up this Borske Sklo bowl

It wasn't the Czech bowls I was thinking of. I've had those in the past.
-
Yes I agree it is much more like a cactus. Polished base with quite a bit of wear

HI,
I was thinking I knew this piece, that it was Czech, but couldn't place it. Then low and behold on the 9th click of the 20th Century preview gallery for the National Glass Fair this weekend I find:
http://www.nationalglassfair.co.uk/preview-gallery-20thC.html (http://www.nationalglassfair.co.uk/preview-gallery-20thC.html)
Enjoy. Oh, and take the opportunity to have a look at the other galleries. Click on the rolling thumbnails to get the details.
Cheers, Nigel
Oh, for those that don't want to 'travel' ...... Prachen Glassworks, Design by Frankisek Koudelka, 33cm tall :) ;) :)
-
Just wondering, should that be Frantisek rather than Frankisek?
-
well done. I had to count 9 clicks before I recognised it!!!
-
Thank you very much Nigel, I was just beginning to think it may not be ID http://markhillpublishing.co.uk/?page_id=842, I found another at the Sklo Exhibition.
Thanks again

That's the same one as was being sold at the Glass Fair (same seller), so still only two.
