Title: green hooped vase - don't think Riihimaki and not even sure it's Scandinavian
Post by: flying free on May 07, 2010, 08:52:43 PM
This was sold as Riihimaki, but I bought it thinking it wasn't.  Just loved the colour of course   :D and the shape.
So, having searched a while, I am at a dead end.  The green doesn't seem to be the right kind of green for Scandinavian, too lime not pear green enough (bottom pic shows the colour more precisely), it's not cased clear at the base.  The quality is not as thick or substantial as my Tamara Aladin vases but is similar to an Aseda bamboo vase (but no casing on the bottom).  It has a fire polished rim. 24cm tall and rim 6cm wide.

Any thoughts (even Ikea/Asda   ;D ) much appreciated.
It has a lot of base wear though and just doesn't 'feel' new, which is why I was thinking perhaps not very modern, but then I'm often wrong on these things.

Many thanks

I came across this link (see below) searching for something else.  I think the hoop on the orange vase looks very similar to those on mine as does the base of the cased white green one.  Perhaps mine is Lindshammar?  what do you think?
