It's impossible to take a picture of ! To see the inside of this weight, one has to hold it up to a strong light and peer deeply into the red glass. The best view when doing that is from the bottom, but even then it's hit n miss. The closest I can come to describing what's in this thing is to say they look like 3 trees in a triangle formation, and there is a teardrop-shaped bubble that forms the section between each "trunk" and where the branches begin. Actually, I just held it, side view, to a 100 watt lamp and the work in there is very nice. It's a shame the maker used such obscurring red glass to hide his craftmanship. I will try to take some pictures that show at least a little of how it looks - better than these pics. And I have read through site after site that describe "the Masters" styles and find no reference to such a weight as this. Granted, I am a newbie to knowing this weight stuff, but I oh-so wanted to say "hey ! my .50 cent purchase is a rare weight worth big bucks !" So I looked very hard for ....anything. LOL..
So, a challenge for anyone to find out anything...although you may want to wait for better pics. And Thank You ! This site rawks

Please post a photo of the base of your weight. It is always good to include a base photo when trying to ID a weight. My first thought was India as far as where your weight may have been made. No idea as to particular maker though.

Hello Lily, and thank you for reminding me about that tip. here is the base pic. Also, LOL...I thought to set the weight on a flashlite and poof ! you can even see the bubble (sorta) that's at the juncture of each tree. That is the only way these "trees" show in a picture...Even in person one needs the flashlite stage to see inside. India, hhhmmm..thank you - that's another direction i can begin searching for any similar weights. =)

If my veiwing is accurate, then the "trees" are very probably "frit flowers" with stems formed by pushing a tool through the centre of the frit pickup - which creates a recess where the push was made and an air bubble forms when the next gather of glass is added.
Frit flowers, often three set around the weight, and often with different coloured frit, are a known output from India. But similar weights have been made elsewhere, including America.
This is the first I have seen using coloured glass for the dome, resulting in difficulty viewing the internal design. Seems to defeat the main object of the design!

Thank you KevH. How interesting. And yes, it does defeat the purpose. LOL..Although, My weight has "mystery" appeal ...it becons guests to come pick it up and peer inside. :hiclp: frit flowers...hmpf. Thanks !
