Title: Honeycomb vase - P. D'Avesen. ? signature
Post by: steph on May 11, 2010, 02:28:50 PM

I came across this vase at a local car boot sale.  It was filthy but looked good. It cleaned up well and has an impressed name of P. D'Avesen made in France around the base.  I've looked on line and see this chap worked on his own and for Daum in the 20/30's.  Some of his pieces in auction listings say signed.  I can't find a signature on this one - so I'm wondering if the impressed name is being referred too....

I think this might have been a good buy for £3.00 ?

If you spell it d'Avesn, you get a lot more hits on Google.  I Googled Pierre d'Avesn.   :)  Do you think that's your chap?

Great find at that price, cheapest I have seen in France was E60.
