Title: Perhaps Sklo Union design ?
Post by: norman warbreck on May 14, 2010, 05:50:03 PM
Hi there,
hope someone would be able to help with this one. Reading in the book Art Before Industry about swung vases i was wondering whether this is of the type. I know it does not look exactly the same. The base is not polished and deep. The pic may lead you to believe that it has a star effect, but not so. The refection is from the inner base of the vase.In daylight it has a tinge of color and when florescent light it goes a lilac color.
many tks
Norman

Norman I can't help with an attribution but is it Neodymium glass - does it change from lilac to another colour under different light sources?  I am a little confused about the base.  It looks shiny to me?  would that not be polished in some way?
