Hi guys
can anyone tell me if Walther made the shades for their Rotterdam lamp or were they sold as just bases?? I have owned a Blue one for many years and it has a "flame" shade. I was speaking to a person selling a green one and they said that the "star" formation shade was the correct one but I have only ever seen this on Bohemian lamps? Did Walther make both?
Thanks in advance for any help

Hi Markus,
here“s a few topics, which contain some of the available information here:

The search function of this board is invaluable and it still amazes me, what
turns up, when you use it... ;) Please, no offense intended!

Markus,
ROTTERDAM figurine NEVER appeared as a lamp in the catalogues; only in 1935 catalogue, page 167 as centre piece with a shallow Rotterdam bowl (and crossed out as 'no longer delivered'!)
My pink figurine has got holes for the cable which are moulded, not drilled : http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/kerzenhalter/02125.html (scroll down to second picture).
Here's a quick and blurry shot of my green lamp with a different shade which I think is a bit closer to the Rotterdam bowl pattern -
no idea who made that >:D
Colour of base and shade however are a perfect fit.

Thanks for the info I appreciate it greatly. it is fascinating that it was not put into the catalogue as a lamp as I ahve always thought that the holes looked moulded and not drilled after the event. I am learning all the time. I have a bowl that a friend wants me to post so I will list that later.
Thanks again
Markus
