Title: Scottish spoke weight for closer ID
Post by: Lustrousstone on May 21, 2010, 08:07:38 AM
Is it my usual, late Vasart/early Strathearn, please? It's 3 inches in diameter with a high dome, flat cane profile, loadsa bubbles and striations, and ground button with extra grinding. I've been through Richard Moore's site but I'm no good with fiddly details. The "fried egg" cane was the only one I could remember well enough to look for and I couldn't see it.

I think you are spot on with your ID of late vasart / early Strathearn.

Ground base suggests Vasart.

I like your weight, Christine.  I just spent some time (and band width! :spls:) at Richard More's site looking for a Strathearn flower.  What a great resource!

My best .... Lily ;D
