Title: Empoli? and two others.

This one has a label.

If my research skills are improving, this candle holder comes from the Cristalleria Valdorme (1956-1971) Corniola. Does this classify as Empoli glass? I really only paid the huge sum of 50 cents because it had a sticker on it :!:

These other 2, I have no idea about and any info would be welcome.

This one looks very like Dartington Glass. Similar looking ones found here.

It does look similar in design, but the pattern in the glass is different. As I am still very much a novice I do not have a clue about patterns etc.

That is the site I used to find out the information that I posted. It is rather interesting, but to appreciate it all I will have to learn Italian first :roll: At the moment English and Dutch are enough for my little brain to handle :wink: [/b]

Please do let us know when you come across an interesting site - even if you don't understand it.

This one seems to be just a basic listing of glass factories in Empoli and surrounds. Some have a click thru link to more info such as the types of glass produced and dates of operation.
I have googled Empoli a number of times in connection with glass and never came across it. Maybe it's new.

Item number one interests me, I have a larger vase in the similar colour and style with a ‘Made in Italy’ sticker on it. I have an inkling it was made in or a round Empoli, Florence – been looking for a factory that made these very Scandinavian items but in Italy

Item number two I am inclined to say not Dartington even though it has the round neck, this is a piece of Dartington for comparison

I do not believe it is a Riihimaen Pala vase either as they had square sectional rims

I think it is a Scandinavian factory like Riihimaki (or other) who made items very similar to Riihimaen often with the surface texture shown

Item three does look Scandinavian with the colour and that thick clear glass casing to base

Inclined to agree with David. The second vase looks like a shorter version of the one discussed on the other thread as being probably Riihimaen, but not by Helena Tynell. I'm not entirely certain though.
