Post by: whitefriars 007 on May 29, 2010, 08:38:32 AM
Hello

I would love to hear from anyone that has any Whitefriars canes to sell or see pictures of your Whitefriars canes that you have in your collection. I purchased these canes recently. I think they are stunning and fascinating to look at.

Regards

Trudy  :)

Hi Trudy

I collect canes of all manufacturers and have quite few Whitefriars.

Unfortunately I do not have any spares left.

To get an idea of my collection Google " PCA Roy's Magic Box "

The only WF canes I have are in jewellery and paperweights made by ex-WF worker Ray Annenberg.

Hi Trudy
I have been collecting paperweight canes for a long time now and have managed to fill six cases with them. I buy a cheap pine photo frame then make a box to fit beneath this which I fill with blue tac and push the canes in this. It is a long time since to did any attachments but I will try putting a couple of picutes with this and hope they come out

Trudy,
I love Whitefriars canes, and have a large collection.  Contact me at travischaudoir AT yahoo DOT com, and we can share our "need lists".   Your very lucky, you have a great start, and several that you have I have not been able to find.  I really think canes from all paperweight companies are just so wonderful, as a paperweight maker I must say that making the canes is sometimes more work than the paperweights.  It's just a very under rated art form.  Good luck in your search, Travis

Alan,
The hand is painful but slowly getting a little better.  I cut three nerves and a tendon, and I may need another surgery in a year to restore more movement to my thumb.  I was so sad that I had to cancel Wheaton, I was looking forward to meeting you and many others in person.  I had big plans for 2010, but it looks like I won't be working with glass until 2011, I guess that makes lots of extra 2010 signature cane.   I hope all is well with you and your faimly.  Travis
