Title: Rune Strand Vase info required. ID = Kronoberg Glas

hi, just got this vase the other day, it has on the base, R.Strand, Lessebo, Sweden. Does anyone have any more info on this one? Date, factory...etc?

Possibly Sea Glasbruk in the 1980's.

Rune Strand (1924–2000) also worked with vicke Lindstrand in Kosta

Kronoberg Glas, from an older design by Strand for The New Hovmantorp Glassworks (which went bust in 1977). In 1979 Tage Johansson, an engraver in Lessebo, bought from the receivers Hovmantorp's design catalogue, including the Rune designs, and also all the remaining glass, cullet and blanks, left in the factory's premises - he then set about reproducing the same designs on the same glass under the name 'Kronoberg Glas'.

Brilliant, Nic! How do you distinguish between the Hovmantorp originals and the later Kronoberg pieces?

They're signed 'Hovmantorp'.  ;D
