Hi, after a great weekend bargain hunting i came across this ovoid vase. The picture etched on the front is of an Angel fish and the initials are PB on the base. Its 4 inches tall by 2.25 inches dia. The base is not polished but a small depression.
Many thanks

It has a Caithnessy look

Hi , many thanks for that lead to Caithness. Had a look at various sites re Caithness and it does look as though it could be, taking into consideration the etching fish design and the glass itself.
Still a lot to learn
many thanks Lustrousstone

Hi,
Sorry for late response to your post but I bought the vase below last weekend. It has a similar Angel Fish to yours, and I've had similar Caithness vases with the blue/green swirl; one had dolphins, the other penguins. I like the shape of your vase.
Hope this is of use.
Marie.

Hi Marie, many thanks for the reply its looking more like Caithness now you have a similar pattern on your vase. Will log it in my records books As Caithness.
Thank you.

Caithness, and the PB will most likely be the engraver's initials. www.scotlandsglass.co.uk has a list of engravers I think (but it may have been done by someone else outside Caithness of course.)

Many thanks Anne, the link to www.scotlandsglass.co.uk is full of good information will save for future reference.

Here is my Caithness (complete with box) and swirl and engraving.
