Title: 19th C square footed cut glass Vase or Rummer?
Post by: Andy on June 11, 2010, 03:41:55 PM
Im thinking this is probably a vase, but could it be a drinking glass? 5 5/8 inches tall
square footed star cut base. Is this a fashion or did square base have any other purpose?
English? Irish? or........ ?

Cheers
Andy

Early 19th ct. for sure, it wil have had a lid at some time. Irish, French, Belgian, Norway - it really could be anything.

Thanks Ivo,I hadnt thought of it missing a lid. Its possible, but im not convinced, not at home now, but i think the rim is
nicely beviled, and no sign of it having one.
