I have somehow developed a major interest in these 'cup' vases. Probably not the right terminology but the term does definitely suit them. Lovely blue C.V.M vase that is approx just over 18cm tall. Question? What is the numbering on the bottom of the Pauly & Co. label stand for? It says A44247. It is my first piece with the Pauly & Co. label. Any help would be appreciated. ;D

No one else has written anything, probably because they are as confused about Pauly & Co. as I am. Pauly has a long history in Murano, sometimes making its own glass but also marketing other companies' glass. I've never been able to get a good handle on Pauly. I wouldn't be surprised if the vase was made by another Murano company. I am thinking of a certain company that does cobalt glass similar to this, but don't want to do anymore public guessing.

Thanks Anita! Yes it is amazing the different companies that pop up with a Pauly & Co. label!

It's probably a model number. Agreed Pauly did sell glass made by other companies, but it also seems clear that they have made their own glass at times. They still have a store near St Mark's square so why not write them with a slightly clearer picture of the label and see what they say.

PS We should have a contest to see if we can figure out which company Anita is thinking of. I know which one my money is on.

Never mind. This was just a confused utterance that I hope I deleted before anyone read it.
