Title: Swan-stemmed dish #2 - Seguso?
Post by: dirk. on June 27, 2010, 09:06:24 AM
Hi,
here's number two of my swan-stemmed dishes. The swan looks very similar to the Seguso
one on Anita's site.
I like this one a bit more, so it's going to be a keeper I think. The glass is very delicate with
a thin string of pink applied to the bowl and foot.
The foot has been folded under and there's a small pontil mark to it. There's a pontil mark
on the inside of the bowl, too.
It's 18cm tall and 17.5cm wide.
Do you think it's a 1920's piece?
TIA
Dirk

Here is a picture of a closer look at the Seguso AV swan (the one in the zoo) from the right. Hope this helps compare. The swans of different companies can look very similar to me. My swan stem has a label that says 1980s or later. This may not be relevant to your stem.

Hi Anita,
thanks for the additional picture, much appreciated. I'm not @home at the moment
and will not be back before next Thursday. But I'll take a closer look then.  :kissy:
