Title: hexagonal textured vase
Post by: Minxey on June 30, 2010, 02:35:37 PM
Hi, hope it's a lovely sunny day where you are.

I've had this vase for some time, always meant to try to id it and finally getting around to it.

I initially thought that it was Rosice glass but have had second thoughts on that.

It stands 7" tall, hexagonal with a polished pontil that's not as sharp as a Whitefriars pontil.

Please can someone help me identify it.

Many thanks.

"Best Art Glass, Foreign" is the best I can do on this one.  There's one on my Wannabee Blog with label

http://whitefriarsglasswannabees.blogspot.com/

Scroll down the blog, it is on the right hand column about half way down.

Many thanks ... interesting blog.

I wonder if you could stretch 'Foreign' to read 'Japanese' ... hmmm

Foreign was often used for Japanese items, but also for German ones post War for obvious reasons

My 'Best Art Glass' bud vase turned out to be Japanese.
