Title: Green vase etched in silver, peacocks, butterflies and flowers.....
Post by: luke-chelsea on June 30, 2010, 04:19:57 PM
Hi again all. Now, this is not my normal thing but it was cheap and is in excellent condition. The silver is more of a pewter colour really. The top is edged in silver and the foot is also. It is a big vase, approx 33cm high and the opening is approx 14cm. Looked bohemian to me but I'm no expert, as you might notice. Found it hard to get decent photos but any info you clever folks can offer will be greatly appreciated.

I think that is Venetian galvanised silver deposit - make sure not to overpolish as the silver decor is very easy to wipe off....

Thanks Ivo. Is there any age to it? because though it looks sort of deco to me the condition is absolutely perfect, and there is no wear to the pattern whatsoever, so  the owner was obviously not a polisher!

Until someone comes up with a closer time frame I'd say anytime between the twenties and the sixties.
