I have been out and about searching for new stock for my web business and I came across this large bowl described by the dealer as Murano
however I believe its a Czech piece maybe Chribska or Skrdlovice in origin can anyone confirm please, its a big piece with lots of base wear so
I would assume its from the 70s or 80s apparently it was used as a fruit bowl by its previous owner.
Its blue with lilac/pink on its rim and body. It is 130mm high 245mm in diameter and weighs 2100g.
Regards Paul.

I hope this link works :-\ I was just looking through Jindrich's catalogues and saw these - so perhaps Chribska?

It certainly looks like something I would believe to be Czech, or maybe German, Austrian or French (if I had to look elsewhere, mostly because of the use of the colour in combination with the lines) instead of Murano.
If it were Czech, my observation would be that the form may look a bit Chribska, but the colour looks more Zelezny Brod (all neodymium Czech pieces I have are ZBS). Unfortunately I'm only confident when it comes to pieces that very clearly are typical of their factories, and this one isn't in my range of knowledge, sadly.
But I'm a novice Czech collector, so I'm hoping someone else with more experience can point in the right direction.

Hi Paul,
I think I´ve got a relative of your bowl here. Is it possible your bowl is pressed glass like mine?
The colour of the rim is painted; you can see the outlines, when you look through it.
Good news - mine´s got a label.
Bad news - I haven´t managed to ID it yet.
They pop up quite regularly here on ebay, usually described as Murano of course. A third very
common colourway would be yellow and pink.
Cheers,
Dirk

Thanks for all your replies, the label on Dirks is very interesting looks like it reads royal towards bottom so maybe British in origin?
-
Oh I forgot to add if Jindrich doesn't think its Czech than thats more than good enough for me. Its a shame its not been identified as yet
because it has got age and is very good quality.. regards Paul.

I´m wondering if no one´s ever seen this label? These bowls aren´t that rare - at least here. :)
-
I saw something similar but unlabelled yesterday. It was pressed and not hot worked. I would say probably not from the UK.
royal towards bottom so maybe British in origin
There are/were other royal families!! That coat of arms doesn't have a UK feel either.
-
I saw a smaller bowl very similar to this in style at an antique fair yesterday which had a walther label attached so maybe Germany...

I've posted a topic about a Walther bowl that wouldn't ordinarily jump out as Walther here:

Jayne, brilliant! (Where has the kissy emoticon gone?) :)
This bowl and its relatives have been annoying me for ages. Although I couldn´t
prove I strongly suspected Walther. They also come with another label, which made
it even harder...

Glad to help Dirk, when I picked it up a boot sale, the last maker I thought it may be was Walther, but the weight and quality were there, and I knew I liked it! :)

Dirk has posted this pic in another topic, as you can see, the colours of Dirks bowl were the same ones like on my bowl here.
