Title: heavy blown glass candle holders

From an estate sale - older home, nice stuff, world traveler, etc.   The taller is 13".  The central column is about 1-3/4" diameter.  One has a base pontil scar that is evident but smooth to the touch (photo) , the other pontil area (no photo) is fairly flat and smooth.

Anyone recognize the work? Country of origin, etc...

are these molded? if so, how many pieces? they looker older but i'm not sure how far back i would go.... they don't strike me as american but again i could be fooled.

No, they are not molded.  Appear to be hand blown free form glass.  The four "balls" in the column on the right have an air chamber that runs through their centers.  The one on the left also appears to have a center chamber of air within the lower spiral but it is difficult to see.  I do not think they are american either.  My best guess is Venetian but I'm no expert.

Bump - Could these be Altare in origin?  I saw a candlestick tagged as Altare that had similar "ruffle" treatment between two sections as the stick on the right. (can't find the picture again  :'( )
