very nice jug has a small gold inclusion maybe looks to have been purposely placed beneath the lip?
maybe its a trademark? (probably wrong)
Thanks for looking, all info appreciated.

Is this jug end of day/slag glass? also on the base pic it looks like i have been careless with a ginger biscuit, but is some kind of grit? and running from this is a crack! would the grit of caused the glass to crack or would the maker put the grit there to give it support???, In my opinion the crack looks to have been done in the making

It's not end of day glass (that's just a term someone made up) and it's not slag glass (that is marbled). Your base picture is too fuzzy to see what's going on but sometimes residue from the pontil iron remains in the glass and isn't removed if the pontil mark remains unfinished (not uncommon on Victorian glass). My guess would be modern Chinese (the single gold splotch and the colours worry me) pretending to be old, but I could be way off.

Might be from southern India and possibly with "some age" ??
