No doubt some of you will have seen the 'Bacchus?' and other weights (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574631383&toolid=10001&campid=5336261829&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fpottery.shop.ebay.co.uk%2FGlass-%2F50693%2Fi.html%3F_catref%3D1%26_fln%3D1%26_ipg%3D%26_ssn%3Dxupesartandantiques%26_trksid%3Dp3911.c0.m282) for sale on eBay. Some nice items, but I think that some of the descriptions are wide of the mark. The Bacchus? looks like an untidy Arculus / Walsh Walsh to me, and the 'Gillinder' inkwell looks much more like a Richardson piece. I have been in correspondence with the eBay seller, who is very helpful, but who is acting as agent for a collector who has provided the attributions and estimates.
I look forward to seeing if much sells at the offer prices - if so, some of my Old English pieces will be on eBay shortly!
