It may well just be a 'dinky' butter dish - but does seem a bit small. No hole in the metalwork for a spoon, so maybe not jam. Marks on the metal are EPNS and underneath A & Co B. Largest diameter is 130mm/5.1/8" - and the central cavity is 25mm/12 deep. Apart from the inside, the entire piece is thickly cased in clear - no marks on the glass - and the stylized boat etc. look almost Chinese/Japanese (bit of a 'junk'). All the silver coating has gone, so been well rubbed, and possible some reasonable age - I would hazard a guess pre 1945. Probably bit of a lost cause, but I thought it looked a bit interesting, and if anyone wants to take a punt and have a guess, please feel free. thanks for looking.
