Greetings,
Bought with a boxed lot. Looked interesting but I've got no real idea of what it is. My best guess is a pipe stand of some kind. The glass does have some damage. There are four indents in the glass, one is busted inside. Not sure what to call this glass? Crackle?
Any hints on what it is?

Size? I would guess an ice bucket with thingys for hanging glasses on and the indents for keeping the bottle upright. Glass looks more like well fused overshot rather than crackle, but it's difficult to tell from a photo. Probably from the US.
Jo Davis on here http://www.chataboutdg.com/ is a big ice bucket collector, she would know.

Oops, missed the measurements didn't I. It's a bit under 5 inches tall. A bit small for an Ice bucket I think.
Maybe part of something else, thinking lamp globe or something like that. Maybe hung by the two opposing nob handles. Or maybe it's upside down and sat atop something. I'm lost.

I think ice bucket and glass holder would be right - perhaps for small shots?
We had a similar pattern WMF ice bucket in the first year's glass calendar... pic here: http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-2114

Anne and Christine, thanks.
Based on the photo Anne linked to I'd say it's got to be the same the same glass work. I saw another small bucket *very* similar to the linked WMF photo but described as "Swedish frosted ice pail" (http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/913642 (http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/913642)) Since I don't think WMF is Swedish and the listing admits the makers mark is rubbed out I think they are probably wrong about the origins.
I would not have thought of something this small for holding ice but I guess so. That's probably all the digging I will put into this one since it is damaged. It would be nice to see a picture of it as it would have looked originally, with tongs and glasses or whatever accessories.

Buck, I found the earlier topic about this too: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,4652.0.html - definitely WMF, Ray's one (as per calendar) was marked such and Frank found catalogue info too.
