These white spiral vases are based on Gunnel Nyman's Serpentii vase for Nuutajarvi. The vase has been copied, most ably by Nyman's glass blower, Helander, when he left Nuutajarvi to work for Humppila.

This thread has all the info in it.

Alfie's Dad:

It would need someone more knowledgeable than me to say who made your pieces. You'd need to see the pieces in person and know the sizes. On the plus size, the bottom is decently finished. The spiral look a little weak, though, and the shape isn't quite what i would expect. Google Nyman or look at the pictures on this board and see what you think.

I found one of these in my local charity shop with a Woolworth's label.

please take a look at these this may just put an end to any doubt that these are related to Gunnel nyman,
personally i think they are not simply due to the fact that these were bought within a day of each other and were found 12 miles apart from the same branded charity shop, Whats the chances of that?

Thanks

Robert.

Confused Max, my reply was too the cats, pretty sure I have seen them in BHF charity shops and in my opinion they are modern Chinese, now the comment has been moved to vase thread?

Hmm...sorry Chris.  I haven't altered the order, so you can see why I thought you were referring to the vases!  The other thread had become very muddled.  Shall I take out your comment above and then perhaps you might add it to the end of the cat thread if you don't mind?   :)
