Title: Identification of green glass
Post by: CarolIOM on August 04, 2010, 07:38:25 PM
Hi,

I am fairly new to glass identification and despite all my efforts I cannot find either of the attached items and would be grateful of any help in identifying them.

The first is a bowl abt 25cm wide & 7cm high.

The second is a vase abt 13 cm wide & 20cm high.

Many thanks
Carol

hello Carol, and welcome to the GMB.
Sorry to say, but think you have over-cooked the pics. in terms of size  -  are you able to re-post them with the first dimension at 700.    This will mean using one of the image reduction facilities such as Irfanview.   Are you familiar with this? :)

Hello Carol and welcome to the board.

Your overlarge images have been resized to something more sensible.

Also, please post only one item per topic - see here for why: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,28213.0.html

Hi Carol,

Your bowl is by Sowerby, I don't know the pattern number, but a similar one was ID'd here:

Hi

Thanks to everyone for their help. I think I now know how to post my images smaller and can see the point of one item per post! Pleased to learn my bowl is Sowerby. Don't know if they glow yet - still trying to find a UV light.
