Title: Murano label I.D please
Post by: carolglass on August 05, 2010, 02:36:39 AM
I just can't help myself even though I am glassless in Australia!! Just found an item on TradeMe with this label-it is the exact copy of one on the label list- red label on a blue daisy paperweight, posted in 2007 but no definite attribution. Anybody out there care to take a punt on the maker?? It is on the base of a free form wave topped with a clear crystal seabird. To check out further details please visit  http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=308579827 (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=308579827)

regards caro

Hi, Carolglass. There is a post about the label at http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?topic=19270.0. It looks like the same bird design. If I remember right, this bird may have been done for one of the Collections in the USA, but the name is escaping me. I'll see if I can find it.

I noticed the picture of the label is the same as the one in the listing. Was it used with permission? If not, one of the moderators can remove it, I'm sure.

I found one on eBay that looks the same (Item 200445030356). The seller mentions Franklin Mint, which is what I was trying to remember. Hope this helps.

I forgot to mention that the label is generic, so doesn't provide any information about the maker. I don't know who made the sea gull, only that the design was made for Franklin Mint.

:thud: Thank you for the timely reminder about authorization Anita- possibly a mod can delete the image. The information re Franklin Mint has decided me anyway.
