Title: Unknown Clear Vase - Maybe Never Know ??
Post by: antiquerose123 on August 08, 2010, 02:24:12 AM
Hi, this is about a 8 inch tall clear vase.  Perhaps we will never know this -- as a zillion clear vases are made, but I thought I would run it by you just in case.  Has long cut grooves, like slices in it.  Top is shaped square, but round shape inside.

Thanks

It was my first thought as well, so I think I've seen one with a label somewhere (I've looked a lot at crystal vases the last months to try and spot Czech ones, so some of it must have stuck :) )

Crystal D'Arques is not highly rated price wise, though I think their stuff doesn't look bad at all. Maybe because they produced simply a lot and it's not particularly hard to find? Or French glass of this period is simpy not 'en vogue' yet?

They run a design school and anything that goes in to production is a joint effort between design and produceability.  And as the largest single producer in the world, they cannot afford to foul up. So yes, mass produced, well designed, underrated.
