Hi - just received this vase (bought from UK) which I thought I had seen previously identified as an early Caithness Domhnall o Broin design. Now having received it - although very happy with it - I am unable to find any such reference to a similar vase. I have searched this site, Scotlands glass, and googled generally without success. Does anyone recognise this design and know anything of it please? It is 19 cm or 7 1/2 inches high, 8cm or 3 inches at broadest point. and heavy for its size at 474grams or just over 1 lb.
Thanks JAK

Definitely looks like Caithness to me, but I'm no expert on O'Broin's designs for the company.
-
Definitely Caithness, but much more recent than O'Broin I think

Yes agree with Christine and David.

What, you agree that "I'm no expert on O'Broin's designs"? :24:

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I came across this while trying research on Domhnall O' Brion and saw that this particular query hadn't been fully answered..so just for completeness (and in case anyone else comes across it), this vase is from the Oban range designed in 1969 by Charles Orr and Peter Fuin. More details can be found on Mark Hill's site as he has an extract from his Caithness book covering this.

Thank you for adding the extra info, most useful.
PS We don't mind old threads resurfacing at all, so no apologies for bumping needed. :)
