Here are a couple of new photos (showing off again).
The first is an amethyst Fish vase with button rim (http://picasaweb.google.com/Johnmj100/EarlyMdinaGlass#5500445898715211602) (fairly unusual), about 23cm tall.
The second is a Tricorn bottle (http://picasaweb.google.com/Johnmj100/EarlyMdinaGlass#5503914249931460290), triangular in shape and 36cm tall, picked this one up at a reduced price - large chip on the rim.

Show-off :P :P :P didn't even bother to mention the buttoned fish also has a paw-mark on it's bottom.....
It's got gorgeous colours and all the extra stuff which can happen with sliver chloride going on in it too....

Mmm yes, the Fish is a bit of a stunner. ;D
The signature does not make it look any nicer, useful for an id I suppose. :24:

The only thing the paw-mark is useful for is upping the selling price, should you decide to part with it, but I know hell would freeze over first!

John,
I can hear it now. Why did you have to spend the vacation money on a piece of glass? My answer, "But John made me do it." Two lovely pieces of glass, but the first is simply very special.
Congrats.

Are there folk who think holidays are more important than glass? weird.
Holiday is just travel hassle, :phew: and a whole load of cash gone forever in a week or fortnight.
Money down the drain.
The only thing that justifies it is getting to be with folk who live far away, and getting to see more glass - and other art.
Glass you own, you can enjoy, all day, every day, for as long as your eyesight lasts!

Am I that transparent? ;D
Well it wasn't just the holiday money.... I dramatically increased my overdraft to buy it (some opportunities should not be missed and the bank has provided me with a ridiculously large overdraft limit for a few years now). I have managed to pay off the debt, a little quicker than I had anticipated 8) and yesterday discovered that my gas and electricity supplier has refunded me several hundred pounds that they have overcharged me over the last year. I bought another bit of glass last night to celebrate, so I really do need to :tsk: myself.
My idea of a holiday is walking across mountains with the wind in my hair (ok, ok, blowing across my bald head) and that tends to be fairly cheap. A few weekends ago I went for a cracking stroll along a large U shaped ridge, it runs for about 30km (20 miles) all the way around a South Wales valley. Snapped the odd photo (http://picasaweb.google.com/Johnmj100/Landscapes#5500451191972780210) on the way too. I enjoyed myself so much I could hardly walk at all the following day...... ::)
