Title: Victorian Glass Cruet applied Flowers Amber Handle Pontil Mark
Post by: zsoka on August 11, 2010, 12:10:05 PM
I just purchased this beautiful purple/mauve/pink Glass Cruet-Vase Style w/applied Amber glass handle, top rim is wavy and you can see 2 different colors of the glass on the top, white and clear.
Amber applied leaves with white/red/blue applied flowers.
Pontil mark on the bottom.
VICTORIAN GLASS?

5 3/4" High
Neck is 2 1/2" long & up.
Bottom is 1 3/4" round.
11 3/4" round circumference on bottom.
Top o.d. 1 3/4"

Could this be Murano? Or perhaps STOURBRIDGE GLASS...Steven & Williams/ Thomas Webb/ Bouiton & Mills. I have checked several places, but I cannot find one like this.
Thank You, I appreciate any help at all.

Time must be accelerated in your part of the world LOL. This doesn't strike me as either Kralik (the flowers are a little basic) or British (the colours don't look right). I'm sure we've had items with these bright-coloured flowers before, but I can't remember the conclusion we came too. Have you looked at US makers?

Yes,I have looked at every maker in the world.I am exhausted from searching for 2 years.
I cannot find the name of the other Glass forum I belonged to.I think it was DGGlass.com??? Do you happen to know?
I bought a new computer and all of my information is in my old one.

I have had this Ewer picture everywhere, the last I was told was Kralik or similiar Czech company.IDK.

Thank you very much

I think you also belong to http://www.chataboutdg.com/

There are many glass manufacturers worldwide that we know little or nothing about; some we don't even know their names. Consequently, a lot of glass will remain unattributed. Why fret about it.
