Title: Smoky brown Gulvaase type bottle with handle.
Post by: doris lee on August 17, 2010, 01:21:26 PM
Hi everyone
I have a smokey brown bottle/vase with clear handle
Height 33 cms diameter base 9cm weight 1.024 kg
Looks like a Gulvaase but handle is putting me off.
Does anyone know its origin or maker?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers Doris

Hi Doris - and welcome to the board.
I don't think anyone can convincingly guess what it is you have - unless you provide a picture. But I can tell you offhand that there is no such thing as a gulvase with a clear handle. Maybe you should google image Empoli and se if anything comes close....

They're almost certainly Polish. They crop up quite frequently.

Yes, seen them listed as Holmegaard, Nuutajarvi and Italian, I suspect Polish too  :)
