Title: Red Lamp with Candy twist, flower and leaves - any ideas
Post by: ardy on August 20, 2010, 01:19:27 AM
Hi I just got this and haven't even washed it yet. I got a bit excited thinking this was A.Seguso when I saw the scalloped label but it just has a model number of 1508.

It is 23cm high (glass only) and 14cm across the base.

regards

I was thinking like you when I saw the label. I thought it might be one of their white stock labels. Alas, the A. Seguso stock label has sharper points than your label. Still, your label looks familiar as a stock label. I'll have to search through my files to see if I can find it.

Here is a picture with a remnant of A. Seguso's stock label. As you can see, it is more pointed instead of round. I went through some of my label photos and found an A. Seguso circular label that had lost it's upper layer, so it was white. It looked like yours. It is probably the label I was thinking of (mentioned in last message). I think yours is a stock label since it has the number written on it. But for who I don't know.

I guess it could be clutching at straws but could your label be a leftover after the top layer is removed? My label is in pretty good condition. Just saw a Archimede Seguso piece with most of the stock label here http://www.fossilfly.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=2756&highlight=archimede+seguso

It has many more scallops than the label on mine. I think I am heading in the normal direction again!!!!!!!!! :thud:

Pina has a picture of the stock label in her book on A. Seguso. It's rather pointy like the one in my picture. The shape of your label is very much like the red label, isn't it? Is it the same size?

It's the same size as both the Pina ones but totally different scallops. So I guess it is about 1/2 as big again.
