Base reads Weidinger Glasmaleri Danmark TLF 914555.
Tennis player logo reads "Lyngby Tarbaek Firmaidrae TS Union"
Centre decal reads "LTFU".
The makers mark on base is a crown logo over "W.G".
Can find nothing on the Internet about the maker.
6" high.

Is the makers mark in these photos the same as yours?

Edit: Glasmaleri translated as glass painter using google.

Yup - glass decoration firm: http://www.weidingerglas.dk
Been on the go since at least the 1970s.

It seems LTFU is a Sporting centre - try looking up the translated version of 'www.ltfu.dk/' and you will find they run all sorts of competitions including tennis. Obviously this is a tennis trophy of some sort.
You should also look at the translated version of 'http://www.weidingerglas.dk/'. I am beginning to suspect that they have a range of products to their own specifications - pr3esumably they could give you an origin for your trophy.

Totally confused now :-[ found a few things on the internet mainly when using the different spelling, translated, all appeared to be German so disregarded them, thought Czech with the base, so why does everything on it says Danish? so is it a Sklo union piece bought and decorated to present to the winner of a sports competition in Denmark?

Spot on - made in Czechoslovakia, decorated in Denmark.

Possibly not decorated in Denmark but the Danish decoration ordered in Czechoslovakia.
