Title: ID Help Needed on possible Baccarat Bowl. New to the board too.

Hi all, been lurking here for quite a while reading some great information.  Finally decided to join.  :)  I apologize for the photos as the item was photographed on a piece of dull cloth giving the appearance of a dull bowl when in reality the bowl's clarity is crystal clear.  This has really stumped me here. The individual I purchased this bowl from said she swears up and down it is Baccarat but I just cannot find it in any reference publications I have. I am inclined to believe her because of her overwhelming collection of Waterford and Baccarat Crystal that she let me look through. There is no acid signature anywhere and it measures 4-1/4" Tall x 8-1/2" Top Diameter x 9-1/4" Bulb Diameter. The fluted cuts are perfect and the bowl resonates a beautiful bell of 10-15 seconds. It is crystal clear giving the appearance of better quality (this individual had a great eye for glass.)  Any help would be appreciated as I'm stumped. The closest I could find was Baccarat's Current Mille Nuits Collection yet the cut flutes on the items from that collection were not slightly spiraled as this bowl is. Thanks for any help all.  :hi:

Hi and welcome!
The very deep mitre cut, in a swirl like that is very reminiscent of the work of Irene Stevens for Webb Corbett, but I'm a bit unsure about the star cut base in conjuction with it.
You need Nigel Benson or Bernard C for this!

hello cypher   -  if, eventually, you need to pursue the Baccarat angle  -  and they are very helpful indeed  -  their Paris email address for queries is..... patrimoine(AT)baccarat.fr    

Mod: change (AT) top @ to make the email address work. Live email addresses are changed to prevent their being harvested by spambots.

my apologies for the error :-[.   guess I'm too naive or whatever.    How is it possible to disguise the email address, yet at the same time convey its accuracy?    Of course, I could have sent a message to cypher direct - but as you can see, another instance of an omitted field. :)

Paul, just change the @ to (AT) when you do the address, and then add a note to say change it back to make it live when the other person copies it.
