Title: Dansk Vases Sold as Murano
Post by: TxSilver on September 04, 2010, 07:44:28 PM
I'm used to seeing it on eBay, but not for Rago Arts and Quittenbaum. Inexpensive filigrana Dansk vases are being sold as very expensive pieces. Rago calls them Murano. Quittenbaum has a frighteningly high open bid of 1220 euro for 4 vases. And to think I sold these priceless vases for about $20.  :24:

The Rago Arts Discovery Auction link is http://shop.ragoarts.com/discovery?l=34151 and the Quittenbaum auction is http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/7789574. When I was digging up the links, I ran across two more of these type vases. I bought a couple of them once, thinking they were Murano. They are very nice and look a bit like Scarpa. I found a labelled one fortunately -- Dansk. A lot of these were made, which I guess is why the listings have so many of them.

You can find a lot of these type vases by googling "Dansk filigrana vase." Some have labels.
