Title: Siddy Langley info
Post by: helpmymum on September 10, 2010, 10:19:57 PM
Hello

I wonder if the good people of this forum could spare a few moments to help my mum.

She brought online what she thinks a Siddy Langley pebbleweight but to her horror it is unsigned & unmarked. Mum thinks all her work is signed and is now rather miffed lol.

So is ALL her work signed or has she brought a duff?

Thank you for your time.

Lots of her work is unsigned.

Welcome to the board.  If you could add some photos of your Mum's piece then folks may be able to help some more. See here for how to add pictures: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,6522.0.html

Thank you both for a very prompt reply.

I’ve passed on your information and shes much happier now, I would like to add she purchased the piece for a high street glass gallery hence her initial disappointment, but now she knows.

I may upload some photos of her two piece collection when I she her next.

Thank you again.

 >:D

We have a "definition" of a collection here - (a bit tongue in cheek). One piece is an example, two pieces are a mistake and three pieces are a collection.
Your mum needs another weight to have a collection!

But the bottom line, whether or not it's by Siddy, is whether or not your mum likes it.

Haha!

Well, I can’t really argue with you as she considers her 2nd piece to be a unsigned ‘mistake’ purchase lol. I’m sure her 3rd piece is far off either.
I don’t think shes specifically going down the Siddy Langley route, shes always had a thing for fancy glass, but who knows with mother!!

Anyway, some photos for you to view.
The egg is signed Siddy Langley Glass R.P. 1993, she’d like some more info that, maybe a considered value as she paid £3 at charity shop for it. The pebble is unsigned.
