Quite a hefty large amberina glass jug and have scoured the internet with some certainty that I would find the maker and pattern quite easily.....but..........nope. Am assuming this is an American piece
-
Yes, and I should know that pattern but my memory is failing me. .....
Ahh, a quick search fixed my memory. What it looks like from here is Anchor Hocking's Soreno pattern. I usually see it in green or gold.
PSS, dinklepip, add your general location to your profile and it will help others around the globe get a sense of where your items might be from. Although I just realized it probably wouldn't have helped in this case as you're in the UK I guess. ;D

hahah cubby I am soooo glad I am not the only one with a bad memory. thanks hon, now I am frequenting the board more often I will update my profile a bit. I shall now have a quick mooch on the net to see what I can find
-
wow just found lots of it thanks, google didn't pick anything up when I just did a search on amberina glass, in fact not one of the images I am looking at is amberina
-
and not one on ebay either
-
Maybe it's rare. It's certainly the same mold pattern. It's from the '60s. IIRC it was also sold as Fire-King Soreno.
-
mmmmmmm tis looking rare at the moment, majority I have found is in the green as you mentioned, not one piece has come up in amberina
-
This points to a very old page but look for 'soreno' on the page and see a collector mentions "half red, half gold" as one of the colors they collect.

Good luck. I'm out of ideas.

ooooooo thank you
-
Hi there -- Wonder if the color combo might be something like this: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,32441.0.html
Just the colors....so might one look down the road of Fostoria.......as (only) a guess ???
-
nooooooo doesn't look quite right to me
-
It's Fire King 1966-70 & this line was reintroduced into the late 1970's for the outlets so you will run into a wide variety of colors over the years with some being somewhat more unusual than others. Ken
-
and yet the Anchor Hocking is a perfect match on pattern
-
Fire-King is an Anchor Hocking brand name. So they are the same.
-
arrrrrrrgh something else I have learned thank you. What a cracking lot you guys are, it's a real learning tool on here with ya'll :kissy:
