I purchased this vase as it was calling Clichy to me. Pale pink with white mottle pattern. The base again has lots of wear. Looks like the vase has been spun as it has a circular ring pattern to the flat base.
Votes for or against please, suggestions on id and age if poss.
Many thanks

I'd say French.... 1930's to 1950's.....not any earlier...

Thanks Christine on your thoughts. I found this yesterday Ok ok it is hmmmm the infamous site but has similarities http://cgi.ebay.fr/VASE-EN-VERRE-DE-CLICHY-BLEU-1930-ART-DECO-VERRERIE_W0QQitemZ350373032761QQihZ022QQcategoryZ146803QQcmdZViewItem

I dont think either are Clichy , sorry just an opoinion .

I don't know much about Clichy, but this looks like a simple mould-blown piece, not what I'd associate with a maker like Clichy - it's very reminiscent of lots of lampshades. I've not a clue what the thing on your link is, but it doesn't look like particularly good quality - nothing special, either of them. Sorry.

I should have said maybe Czech, not Bohemian. Sue is right, pink splodge lampshades (and vases and in pale green) are common here, often with gilding.
The ebay vase is almost certainly Czech and probably older than your vase (maybe even Bohemian). It is missing its metal grid top.

thanks for your thoughts much appreciated, I must admit though i do not like the one in the link. I thought that mine was about the 1970s.

Not my area, really, but it looks more '30s - '50s than '70s to me. :spls:
