From the mystery shelf - what is it? I have no idea, my wife hates it (so I like it more), and no jokes about what anatomical part it may resemble. Thoughts? It's about 14.5 inches tall and 9 inches wide at base...

I see a kneeling torso, without head, very interesting piece, I would think Murano, Italian but let the experts decide ............. in that case would also think of Bianconi ............... can also see where your wife's coming from!
-
I get the kneeling torso too - but it seems to be of somebody who had been grossly overweight and has dieted - it definitely needs a tummy tuck!
-
And I see a woman's *&%#...
Think it's time for a little visit to the psychologist. :pb:
-
I see a piece of squashed glass.... :24: where is the woman kneeling.....I might see what Anik said....but to me it just looks like squashed glass. I was never good with ART... :spls:

so it´s Rohrschach and Prozac
and everything is groovy
la la la la

Sorry Sue, don't agree on the tummy tuck needed - I think it appears almost trapped inside outer, like modernist interpretation of the Victorian glass dome idea!

I would say your wife has it about right , sorry . :srn:

I loved reading everyone's responses on this, perhaps Flypogger you could give your wife a break and make it earn its keep by renting it out as ice breaker pre-dinner conversation piece? Fledgling business idea perhaps (and I have a couple of other things I could sell you that would also go down well as such)!

oh dear was the maker drunk a the time of making this :24: :24: :24: :24:
-
Looks like it wouldn't break too many ice-cubes before it got broken itself.......
Glass doesn't make a good hammer, particularly not hollow glass. :sm:
-
I like that

I don't know that you took my initial comment seriously but in the absence of anyone coming up with anything better, if I were you I would send the pics over to the Fulvio Bianconi family's website and ask them very nicely to take a look at them for you!

And, all joking about it apart, I've seen similar strange textures in incredibly expensive glass gallery shops and in textbooks - I can't think what they were, not really my taste, but I honestly DO think it's something rather good.
-
When I first saw this I envisaged a seal but I also see the kneeling torso
-
I think it's a cat whose head has been broken off :ooh:
