Looks like a triffid/pitcher plant,weird but very nice ;D

My first thought was that it was a nepenthes (Pitcher plant, insect-digesting thing) which, after my initial reaction of "it's a fabulous thing" led onto "it's my kind of fabulous thing", because I grow nepenthes, but a lady who grows orchids told me it's an exact likeness of an orchid that she does grow - from the weird white and green contorted roots, to (eeeeeeeek!) the feel of the flower when you put your finger into it - at which she PUT her finger into the flower and wiggled it. :thud: I was terrified she'd break it!

It's a beautiful thing. It's a shame that their website with its supposed shop just quite live up to it.

:o It's absolutely fantastic, Sue! :D But where on earth are you going to put it to keep it safe? It looks as if it needs its own cabinet, or at the very least one of those Victorian glass domes!

At the moment it's shut in the dining-room - to keep it safe from the cats.
But I think it's going to end up in the middle of my "glass-wall" of shelves in the sitting room. It's just too fantastic not to give it a very prominent place!
I forgot to say, it's 11" tall. It's a big beast, but the tiny details are just amazing, from multicoloured stripes and twists, the inclusion of tiny sparkly bubbles in the spirally long bits, the colours in the leaves - which look as if they have been produced in the workshop with silver or copper.....
I'm not sure the bulb bit is borosilicate glass - it looks more like crystal from a pot - there is a latticino sort of bit in it, and a blue glowing bit which looks as if silver salts have been used - incredibly complex, loads of different techniques combined, (I think. It merits a bit of research to find out exactly all that is going on in it.)

I see I've been shifted - I thought as it was a "show-off" thread I'd shove it in the general glass bit so everybody would see it, but yes, it does belong here as it is Scottish Glass.

Beautiful work, beautiful subject matter.
Has me wanting to learn lampwork now... or at least lampwork fusion of glass and crystal to copper rod for art glass work I'd like to get into.
