It's a geode like piece with a central hole. 1-3/4 inches tall, 2-1/4 inches diameter.
It's signed.... <something>, 'BV', then '99313'. The something looks like it ends in la Bodin pr da Bodin.
Any help out there? Thanks.

I believe it says Kosta Boda and that the BV are the artist's initials. The number could be for identification.
My best ..... Lily :)

Well done on the Kosta, Lily - I would suspect Bertil Valien for the initials.
Is there any chance you could get some pics. showing the actual glass to a better advantage, Cubby?
How is it made? Is it cast?
-
Thank you, I believe you both correct on all counts :hiclp: - the company and the designer. I will post some better pictures later.

Additional pictures. Hope they are helpful. The colored glass is applied onto the outer layer ... and the interior of the 'hole'
Also there are a couple scratches on the flat polished upper face. I need to decide what to do about them. If it was worth the effort I could polish those out but it would take quite some time.

Thanks very much - I love his work. I lust after his brains and his boats.
I wonder if the scratches arose because somebody displayed it up-side-down?
I woudn't worry about them too much.
Polish them out if it spoils your view of the piece.

Is it actually a paperweight?

Is it actually a paperweight?
I wondered about calling it that as well. It' too small to be one of the votive candle holders that have a similar overall shape. Not sure what else to call it, paperweight seemed more appropriate than objet d’art :D

It can't be a pwt. surely, with a flat, polished and signed top.
Personally, I'd never stick a candle in something so lovely, but I don't stick flowers in my glass either.
It is just what it is - a bowl-like bit of Art Glass.
