Title: Good Deal on a Michael Harris Axehead vase on EBAY
Post by: Glasshound on October 06, 2010, 06:19:17 PM

Nice large vase...interesting silver top...don't know if it's original to the vase?

I'd get it myself but I can't afford the shipping to Canada!   :'(

Hi Blair could be a good thing to sell on again but is it real?  the stopper on the top is just pure crazy I highly doubt it came with it, I call them fish vases
Remember its a large verision the measurements are slightly off but you have the stopper on the top which I'm guessing he has measured?
Where's that base picture I've asked for one as I'm thinking of buying it.

Take my information with a pinch of salt as I'm still learning :)

One like it.

I would want to see a photo of the neck and rim without the silly candle holder stuck on it, is it hiding any damage?

Bored as I am of saying this and no doubt others are of hearing it, they are known as fish vases not axehead vases. >:(

They are ofishially Fish vases - Michael Harris' own name for them. These particular ones are post-Harris in production period - you can tell from the very rectangular shape, but still stunning beasts.
I'm pretty sure the metal thing stuck in the top does not belong to it at all.

That's a good point if the metal lid at the top is covering up any glass damage, would I not be correct in saying these large ones normally go for £150-200 at auction.

Has anyone asked the seller if the silver thing is stuck on or pushed in / removable? If the latter, ask for pics without it in place?
