Title: Scottish, but Vasart or Strathearn closepack?
Post by: Lustrousstone on October 16, 2010, 03:31:21 PM
I think I know the answer, but I'm going to ask the question: Vasart, Strathearn or Vasart/Strathearn crossover? I suspect late Vasart/early Strathearn. The turquoisey blue ground is sold, the dome is high, the cane dome is distinctly lop-sided, the base is fire polished (the white bit is white glass) but has been done so there is a little ledge on one side and the metal is nice and colourless. Size 2.25 in diameter.

Somebody's a bit over-excited about their wacky vaseline chalice.... you forgot the pic!

Although I have not yet seen the picture, I am 99% certain it is Strathearn: I think there are very, very few 2.25 inch Vasart closepacks around.

:ha:(I love offering opinions based on sparse information!)

Hi Christine

Spoils the fun a bit, having images! But I revise my opinion to 99.9% Strathearn.

  >:D One should remember that entire academic fields are based on that remaining 0.1% uncertainty!
