Title: Beautiful Uranium Glass ID
Post by: cinderelladragon on October 22, 2010, 02:18:38 AM
My friend has these two beautiful pieces of uranium glass and knows nothing about them so would be grateful for an ID.

The bowl is quite large, a large salad or fruit bowl.

Thank you.

cinderelladragon — welcome to the GMB.   I can't help, but including your country or region in your profile can sometimes help narrow down the possibilities.

The dressing table set looks like a mixture of at least two different sets, one of which I also own but I believe is currently unidentified. (the concentric ring pattern).

I think part of your dressing table set may be Sowerby.

We need larger pictures on a plain white background (preferably with the white balanced) so we can see colours and details. Your pictures are too small (make the longest dimension about 700 pixels when you resize) and uranium gets lost against glass. It's also better to post one item (or set) per thread, so it might be a good idea to start a new thread for the bowl and the mods can remove it from here. We also need to see the individual items, as the detail gets lost in a group. If you need more than four pictures, simply reply to yourself. Base shots are often handy (but probably not for DT sets), as are dimensions. We need as much information as possible to help, as we only have what you provide to go on.

And after that lecture, welcome to the board.

I think the large bowl may be Edward Moore and from the 95625 range. See here http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,36773.0.html and scroll down. Your friend needs to run her fingers all over the inside to see if it is marked.
