Hi there.
I just googled that name and came up with an ARTHUR Zirnsack.....seems (Maybe) Kosta/ Flygsfors  ---- Studio Ahus now

http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/studio-ahus-glass-dreutler-zirnsack-kosta and CLICK here-good link (http://cgi.ebay.ca/Sweden-Glass-Vase-Arthur-Zirnsack-Hanne-Dreutler-Ahus-/290478367694?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a1dc23ce) on Ebag.  Has a label, and signed.......and the Seller is here in Canada

Maybe a   and then again, maybe not

Is that what the writing on yours looks like??   Let us know......as this is just guesses from Google

To Max

Sorry not that one unfortunately -  My one has a hole in the top with a marine green circle round the hole.  Will try and send photo when I get my camera back from my daughter who is on holiday.

to  KevH,

Hi this item is 3 inches tall and 9 inches in diam at its widest. it feels like a paperweight it weighs 508 grams.  What do you think.  I know it having a hole in the middle it may resemble a very small vase!!!

Hi people,
I have found an identical paperweight for sale at WorthPoint on line auction.   They described it as a Stunning Studio Ahus Swedish paperweight, it is clear lead crystal with a torquoise suspended at the top.  Etched at the bottom Studio Ahus Sweden 1988 HO - AZ SEK

Mine has the name Zirnsack before 1988.

Looking at their picture it is identical, even the comment they said it would look good and could be used to hold a pen!!!!

Any comments to confirm these details?????

It would make more sense (to me) if it was a "pen holder" or similar, rather than a paperweight. But ...?

I will move this thread over to the general glass forum to see if others have any ideas.

The inscription should read HD and not HO,
HD for Hanne Dreutler.

Can we please have a picture of the signature. A sharp, clear picture of the signature, thanks!

I think you have a small vase.

Maybe you could write to Studio Åhus, and see if you can get any info on Christian Zirnsack.

Hi John,

Hey, don't shout! :) (Allcaps are considered shouting online.) The consensus is that it's more likely a small vase, but the very best information you'll get will be from the guy who made it himself. Be patient - he might not check his email every day. Alternatively,

OK, more from Christian today:
Quote
the little green objekt i think is a flacon! for parfume...It must be one of the first things i did after leaving the glass school in Orrefors! I started working at my fathers firm around 1984/85! Then i worked there for 12 years..Then i left for family reasons and didnt work with glass for many years. for 4 months ago i started with design there again!

So I think this wraps up the maker nicely. Huge thanks to Christian for his info and look forward to seeing more of his work. If anyone has Facebook and wants to see what he's doing now here's his Facebook page with photos of some of his current glass: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Christian-Zirnsack-design/124182670973702

Christian's going to let me have dates for his upcoming exhibitions etc...
